A walk in the UNESCO World Heritage Site

If you like walking through nature, then the Carlin Nature Trail is a must-visit during your Christmas in Mauritius. The trail is located in the Black River Gorge National Park, which is home to many rare plants, beautiful waterfalls and other natural wonders.


The trail is a 4-kilometer path that takes about 2 hours to walk. If you are keen to see some rare flora, you should visit the trail between March and May. If you visit between June and August, you can see the beautiful waterfalls.


And if you visit between September and February, you can view the stalactites and stalagmites in the cave. The UNESCO World Heritage Site is also home to many species of birds and reptiles.
